Peace, safety and free tuition

Peace, safety and free tution were the most important reasons why international students in Molde decided to study in Norway.

This is revealed in a survey done by The Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU) among international students who started to study at 34 different Norwegian institutions in 2013 and spring 2014.

For the 29 responding Molde students – out of 3216 respondents nationwide –  «Peaceful and safe society» (75.8%) and «No tuition fees» (75.8%) were «important» and «very important» factors that made them decide to study in Norway, and 89.7% answered that the programmes and courses offered at Molde University College (MUC) was the most important motivation factors for applying to study here.

The Molde students were generally very satisfied with the teaching and counselling, but exceptionally happy with the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in education on Molde Campus. 96.6% reported «satisfied» and «very satisfied» on use of ICT in Molde, compared to 79% nationally.

93.1% reported that they are satisfied with the rooms for teaching and studying (80% nationally) and 79.3% have a more positive overall impression of Norway after studying in Molde (68% nationally).
